Christoph Weber is agri-business specialist in the livelihoods, gender and impact program at ILRI. A livestock sociologist he has more than 30 years of post-doctoral experience in development cooperation projects in Africa, South and South-East Asia and during the last 20 years mainly in transition economies in former Soviet Central Asia and former Yugoslavia. He mainly worked in bilateral projects on a wide range of various topics of the German development cooperation (GTZ/GIZ), but also for private consultant firms and other donors like the EU and UNOPS. He has a PhD in Rural Sociology ("The sacred cow in Hinduism") and an MSc in Animal Husbandry, both from the University of Bonn, Germany. His position at ILRI is supported by German devlopment cooperation.
